SAFA dried seaweed powders are produced from the seaplant "Sargassum polycystum". Sargassum is a brown seaweed and the tropical equivalent of the more common cold water brown seaweed "Ascophyllum nodosum". The raw seaweed is hand harvested in a sustainable fashion, graded, dried, hand visually graded and milled to the customers" requirements.

Seaweed has been used for centuries as a manure, fertiliser and animal feed. Seaweed outdates man by a considerable period of time. Man has been using seaweed for food and in the growth of plants since his very beginning. Seaweed has for many years held many mysteries and it is still not probably fully understood but there are centuries of use, millions of examples of its many benefits in plant health and growth, soil health and animal health. This does not even cover the examples of use of seaweeds for human consumption for centuries also.

Today we understand more fully the benefits and use of seaweed and seaweed extracts but it is important to remember that "Nature reveals her secrets reluctantly" and "nature is not easily replicated".
